Last night at Pleasure Salon, vintage Linda Lovelace clips and cutting edge queer porn videos flickered on a prominent wall and were reflected in the mirror over the bar, illuminating the room. Conversation grew up between strangers who were swiftly becoming friends. People from all walks of life, ages, races, ethnicities, gender-identities, sexual persuasions, kinks and proclivities met each other. They stopped to deeply engage in small groups, or they moved from one to the other, or both. They nibbled snacks, took advantage of happy hour, and then came together as one when tickets were drawn for passes to Cinekink, the Kinky Film Festival (March 1 – 6 at Anthology Film Archives) and to Wild’s Playground.
For four hours at Pleasure Salon we celebrated our love and passion for all things sex-positive, and met like-minded strangers and friends, and we’ll do it again next month, on Monday, March 7th, 2016. Hope to see you there.
